I want to be a Mori Girl
Having only just recently discovered crochet I have spent a lot of time on the internet searching for patterns and the term "mori girl" kept cropping up. After a bit of googling I realised, I'm in love with the lifestyle and fashion of these quirky, vintage clad girls. Mori means forest in Japan and the style concept is "a girl who looks like she is living in the forest" The look is natural & earthy. It's all about layers, vintage clothing, lace, crochet, natural makeup and rosy cheeks. Head over to http://www.electricalice.com/blog/?cat=24 for more pictures and style guides.

Afternoon Tea fingerless gloves
I saw a picture of these beautiful gloves ages ago but could not find the pattern anywhere. I stumbled upon it quite by accident the other day and wanted to share. http://crochetinsider.com/pattern/afternoon-tea-fingerless-gloves

So, late last night I started making the hat I'd promised my son. I must have been so tired I forgot I was following a pattern and carried on crocheting round and round until I fell asleep. I opened my eyes this morning to find the "hat" was about a foot across and completely flat, then my son had the idea of turning it into a bed for his pet rats. He showed me where to stitch and I stitched. I think it turned out quite well, the rats seem to love it anyway and I didn't get in too much trouble for still not making the hat.

Craft space
http://www.home-designing.com/2009/05/craft-room-home-studio-setup
If your house is anything like mine then you can't open a drawer without discovering random balls of wool you forgot you bought or loose beads falling out all over the place. So I have decided it's time to create a proper work space for crafting to save me from being banished to the garden shed by my long suffering family. I have found some amazing inspiration here, and even though I dont have a whole room to spare there are some lovely ideas that could be adapted for craft corners.
